A great way to support KMHV is through a "Qualified Charitable Distribution". A traditional IRA owner, who is age 70.5 and older, can order a QCD check of up to $100,000 to be sent directly to KMHV by contacting their IRA administrator and requesting it (a QCD amount greater than $100,000 can be made but the excess will be taxable as income and can be deducted on 1040, Schedule A). A QCD check bypasses the donor and is sent directly from the IRA administrator to the registered home office of the charity. (search for our Business Number 690549).  For a QCD from a traditional IRA, there are no taxes assessed and the withdrawal counts toward the Required Minimum Distribution. In addition, because QCDs bypass the donor they do not increase the donor’s Modified Adjusted Gross Income. This may alleviate an increase in Medicare Part B premiums due to income.
